As many of you probably know – Gamescom, the biggest gaming trade show in Europe, is currently underway. Obviously a show wouldn’t be spectacular without an appearance from EA. The company released a brand new gameplay trailer at the show this week that shows off a desert environment, horseback combat, and more.

Here’s the full trailer to check out:

This beautiful piece of cinematography gives us a glimpse at what combat will look like in a desert-themed setting. Plus, you also get to see some of the vehicles of the game in action including a few different tanks, horses, and, of course, the huge armored train outfitted with turrets.

Development team members from DICE have stated that melee-based, close-quarters combat will be more prevalent in Battlefield 1 than in any other Battlefield game to date. The Scimitar is one of the confirmed weapons for BF1 and, based on the trailer, it looks like players may get to utilize it while riding on horseback.

The Gamescom trailer not only gives us more information about the game, it also looks incredible and, as stated in the video itself, all of the it is rendered in-game. The only thing we don’t know for sure is what platform this is being run on, but it’s probably safe to assume that it’s PC.

Don’t worry, though, the graphics will likely be stunning on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. If Star Wars: Battlefront is anything to go by, gamers are definitely in for a treat with this game.
