Battlefield 1 DLC: A Look at Upcoming Expansions and More

Battlefield 1 may have only just been released, but that doesn’t hold anyone back from wondering what lies ahead in terms of post-launch content. Believe it or not, we already have some information regarding the upcoming expansions that will be released for BF1 in the future. Below we discuss what we know about DLC that’s coming our way.

Battlefield 1 DLC

Already sick of the current map selection in the game? Well, don’t worry. It won’t long before EA and DICE start dropping expansions that will include new environments to battle it out in. So far, we know that at least two DLC packs will be released. One is slated for release in March of 2017. The other, however, doesn’t have a confirmed release date at this time.

They Shall Not Pass

They Shall Not Pass is the name of the first planned expansion for Battlefield 1. It was officially announced on August 24th, 2016 (the same time EA gave us details about Battlefield Premium for the game). Sources claim that this DLC pack will give us four new maps to play, a new set of weapons, more vehicles, additional gadgets to utilize, and it’ll open up the ability to play as the French Army.

Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass Expansion

Many people have been speculating that at least two of the maps coming with this expansion will likely focus on the Battle of Verdun and the Battle of the Somme. No official word has been given regarding the setting of the maps for the first DLC.

Expansion Two

We’re dubbing this one “expansion two” simply because it is assumed that it will be the second DLC drop and, well, we don’t have an official name for it and we certainly aren’t going to speculate about the title of downloadable content.

What we do know is that this expansion is also expected to bring four new multiplayer maps to the table and that it’ll introduce the Russian Empire as one of the playable factions of the game. The Russians were involved in a number of different battles throughout WWI in areas all over the world including Prussia, Galicia, and more.

We’ll provide further details regarding this DLC as soon as they become available.
